Sabrina and I have already communicated
with each of you separately but I wanted to officially announce that
sadly, we will have to forgo our trip to Nationals this summer.
We
unfortunately suffered serious injuries to three of our girls and after
looking at the timetables for recovery, we realized that it would not
make sense to go through with the trip if we only have 6 or 7 healthy
players. Sabrina
and I looked at every possible option to still make the trip - right up
till a day or two ago. Once we decided that the decision would be to
cancel, we reached out individually to make sure everyone was aware.
As
for the girls, I can't express how proud I am of them. Having lost only
3 games since November says a whole lot about these kids and their
fight. It absolutely kills me to not be able to give them the chance to
battle the nation's best. But without our full team, we would not be at
our best.
As for the summer, we will absolutely
not stop practicing and playing games. We have tourneys and possibly a
league to look forward to. A team outing is in the works and we have
camp and training info for those who would like it. Hopefully we'll see
you all at practice so we can continue to get better. I fully expect us
to be stronger and better for next year. Thank you all for your
